The Situation Corporate social responsibility program managers are extraordinarily time-poor. Their job requires a diverse, timely, and culturally sensitive calendar of programming, including awareness dates, crisis response moments, and seasonal campaigns, for workforces spanning dozens of backgrounds and time zones, typically with minimal staff and no dedicated content budget. When a major world event happens, where do you go for quality guidance so your people can respond while the urgency is still there? That infrastructure gap was my mandate when I moved into the Director of Product role for Benevity’s Inspiration Engine in 2022.

The Approach The Inspiration Hub was not simply a content library. It was an integrated creation, discovery, and launch platform. It had a curated browsable content store, publishing tools that let administrators go from discovery to live program without leaving the platform, a Grammarly-style writing interface for creating their own communications, and APIs that let other Benevity services consume its content. Narrative, design, and product partners were aligned around a single goal: reduce the time and expertise required to run a world-class giving program.

The Outcome Within three months of launch, 65% of Benevity’s clients were accessing the hub monthly. That reach matters beyond the metric: when clients move in the same direction, responding to the same moments and activating around the same causes, donation volumes rise across the entire network. The Inspiration Engine translated Benevity’s scale from a feature advantage into an industry authority position, cementing the company as the centre of gravity for corporate social impact.
